This is particularly important when it comes to the perceived “bad” stuff that lands on us. If we become shocked by the volatility, uncertainty, complexity, & ambiguity in life then we become mentally vulnerable – negative emotions ignite – we feel justifiably angry.
Problem is that anger blocks cleverness – angryness isn’t associated with responsible decision making.
A performance mindset (& mental health) then starts with ACCEPTANCE – acceptance that “life is unfair.” If you can accept then there’s a chance we can respond with cleverness.
